🌍 Apostille Frequently Asked Questions
What is an apostille?
An apostille is a certificate that authenticates the signature of a public official on a document so it can be legally recognized in another country.
Why would I need an apostille?
You’ll need an apostille if you’re using a public document from one country in another country that’s part of the Hague Convention. This commonly comes up for things like getting married abroad, international adoptions, business matters, or continuing your education overseas.
What kinds of documents can you help with?
We work with documents like birth and marriage certificates, diplomas, transcripts, powers of attorney, FBI background checks, and business documents.
Do you handle the whole process?
Yes! We take care of everything — document pickup, notarization if needed, state submission, and secure return — so you don’t have to deal with government offices.
What areas do you serve?
We provide mobile services throughout Orange County and surrounding areas. We come to your home, office, hospital, or preferred location.
Do you offer in-office appointments?
We operate exclusively as a mobile service. This allows us to meet clients wherever they need us, providing a more flexible and personalized experience.
Does my document need to be notarized before an apostille?
It depends on the type of document. Vital records (birth, marriage, death, divorce) do not need notarization — they must be certified copies. All other documents usually do need to be notarized before they can be apostilled.
If your document isn’t notarized yet, no problem — we can notarize it for you, and it’s included in our apostille service to make everything easy.
How do I get a certified copy?
You’ll need to request it directly from the county clerk’s office where the document was originally issued or from the state health department. Once you receive the certified copy, we can take care of the apostille process for you.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes! Same-day and urgent appointments are available based on schedule. For apostille services, please note that government offices are only open Monday through Friday during business hours, so apostille processing can only be completed on weekdays. If you have a tight deadline, we recommend reaching out as soon as possible so we can secure the fastest turnaround for you.
What do I need for my notarization appointment?
For notarization, all signers must be present and have a physical, government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. Digital IDs cannot be accepted.
Can I use an expired ID for notarization?
Yes. For notarization in California, expired IDs are acceptable as long as they expired within the last 5 years and the photo still matches.
¿Hablas español? / Do you speak Spanish?
Yes, we’re happy to assist Spanish-speaking clients. Please note that we are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice regarding immigration or any other legal matters. It’s best to speak with an attorney first for legal guidance.
How long does the process take?
For document pickup and notarization (if needed), the appointment usually takes less than 15 minutes, plus another 15 minutes to drop off and explain the apostille. Most apostilles are completed within 1–3 business days. Certified translations follow a separate timeline of 3–5 business days.
How much does apostille service cost?
Our apostille service starts at just $199 for the first document and $59 for each additional apostille.
This includes everything you need:
Personal document pickup
Notarization if required (a $55 value)
State submission
Secure return of your documents
Instead of spending hours navigating government offices or risking mistakes, you get a fully managed service that saves you time and stress.
Do you offer rush service?
Yes, expedited service is available depending on the document and state requirements.
Do you offer translations?
Yes, certified translations are available as an add-on to apostille services only. We provide wet-ink, original signed translations ready for international use.
How much are translations?
Translations start at $65 per 350-word page.
Notarizing the translation is $20 per document (highly recommended).
Expedited service (1–2 business days) is available for $20.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, debit/credit cards, Zelle, and mobile payments like Apple Pay. Full payment is required at the time of document collection.
Do you handle federal apostilles or authentications?
Yes, we assist with federal apostilles and authentications, including documents issued by federal agencies. Processing times and requirements vary, and we’ll guide you through the correct process.
Can you tell us what document we need?
We’re not attorneys, so we can’t provide legal advice or recommend which documents to use. It's best to consult with an attorney for legal assistance.
How do we get started?
Just call, text, or book online. We’ll guide you through the next steps and schedule document pickup.
How will we get our documents back?
We’ll return your documents personally or send them with tracked shipping, based on your preference.
